An ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that killed his dog and took everything from him. With the untimely death of his beloved wife still bitter in his mouth, John Wick, the expert former assassin, receives one final gift from her–a precious keepsake to help John find a new meaning in life now that she is gone. But when the arrogant Russian mob prince, Iosef Tarasov, and his men pay Wick a rather unwelcome visit to rob him of his prized 1969 Mustang and his wife's present, the legendary hitman will be forced to unearth his meticulously concealed identity. Blind with revenge, John will immediately unleash a carefully orchestrated maelstrom of destruction against the sophisticated kingpin, Viggo Tarasov, and his family, who are fully aware of his lethal capacity. Now, only blood can quench the boogeyman's thirst for retribution. People who like films like the Punisher, Taken, Man on Fire and similar films…films about men with bad destinies who go out to take their revenge…well people who like this kind of films will also like John Wick. The film is not really deep or something (compared to Taken or 96 Hours for example) but there's a lot of action and it's really entertaining. After Matrix I thought for a long time, that Reeves started to act in all his roles too cool, without a lot of mimics and gestures. As John Wick that would have been totally okay, because he plays a cold-blooded hit-man. But no, Reeves acts very well. I really had to laugh in the scene where Iosef, aka Alfie Allen aka Theon Greyjoy appears for the first time. In the same moment Wick puts the gas pump into the tank. I'm not sure if the directors have realized the hidden symbolic and the joke…but yeah, people who watch Game of Thrones will know what I'm talking about. It was funny. In a period when the Hollywood studios stuff scripts with elements to appeal to every viewer demographic, this grindhouse style action picture keeps the focus on gunfights and car chases. However there is a style and intelligence present in this script that elevate the experience way above the norm for the genre.

I was reminded of Jack Reacher (2012), Payback (1999) and Get Carter (1971). All R rated movies, unfortunately for the 15 year old boys who would absolutely love them. It's irritating to me that the commercial need for the PG-13 rating has steered action films toward the comic book adaptations where death on screen is generally avoided. Although the film takes place in a heightened fantasy version of New York, it maintains a quite realistic style of fighting and action choreography. Most of the fights are settled by someone getting shot and killed.

There are a lot of angry, one-star reviews on IMDb. These are from people who don't like the genre and were expecting something character-driven. The professional reviewers rated the picture on how well it achieves what it set out to do, and it was quite well-reviewed indeed by those professionals.

The release didn't have a huge push behind it and it was a so-so performer at the domestic box office, but I think the essential enjoyability and quality here will translate into strong results as a rental. It did manage to edge out Expendables 3, a massively dumb effort to appeal to the same audience, and one that was crippled by its efforts to achieve a PG-13 and a broader appeal. It's good to see Keanu Reeves here in a project that is a perfect fit for his screen presence. Neither surprising or groundbreaking in any particular way, the movie gives us what we want and leaves it at that. The gold coins are currency among the Assassins. It's not made clear how exactly one earns them or why they don't just use real money. But it can be speculated that you earn a certain amount of coins for certain missions. These coins can be exchanged for services within the assassin industry, such as removing bodies and cleaning up any forensic evidence, purchasing weapons and armor, information, and so on. It can also be assumed they use this form of "in-house" currency to avoid any real money being marked or traced to anyone in the organization. Having a private form of currency also makes it more secure against forgery or anyone outside the organization using it themselves. The characters' discussions about John Wick's history suggest he is the most feared assassin in the criminal underworld, which suggests that few assassins would have the courage to try to take him down. There are some assassins, like Harry, who demonstrate too much admiration and respect for John Wick to want to kill him. Other assassins may have found the $2 million bounty too low for someone like John Wick. Others, like Perkins, while really talented, may also be reckless or arrogant or willing to break the rules (like trying to take John down in the hotel). a5c7b9f00b Download hindi movie The Green-Eyed MonsterThe ReclamationTwisted Metal 2: World Tour tamil pdf downloadEraser download moviesEpisode 1.190 in hindi movie downloadThe Commuter download torrentJew full movie in hindi free download mp4Wolf Who Cried Boy full movie in hindi free download hd 1080pAgent Cody Banks in tamil pdf downloadEpisode 2.21 download torrent
